Expert-led data consulting, without the agency overhead.
At Mozaik, we don't just answer the question you brought us — we help you work out whether it's the right one, and make sure the answer ends in a decision.
Boutique by design. Global by reach.
Mozaik is a data and research consultancy headquartered in Toronto, Canada, working with everyone from SMBs to FAANG across Canada, USA, UK, Singapore, Europe, and Southeast Asia. We work across the full path from infrastructure to insight — architecture, business intelligence, market research, and AI tooling — as advisors, as hands-on builders, and as trainers. Every engagement starts with your business question, not our template.
Principles that guide how we operate.
Every engagement starts from a decision.
We design the work backwards from the action it has to create. If we can't articulate what you'll do differently once it's done, we don't start — and that applies to a warehouse migration as much as a segmentation study.
Honest counsel over comfortable answers.
We will tell you what the data shows — even when it challenges your assumptions. Our job is not to validate what you already believe. It is to give you the clearest possible picture of reality.
Selectivity is not exclusivity.
We work with a small number of clients because that is what quality requires. If we don't think we're the right fit, we'll tell you — and point you toward someone who is.
Senior thinking at every stage.
Every deliverable, every strategic recommendation, every client conversation is handled at the principal level. The expertise you're paying for is the expertise you get.
Most data work stops one step short.
There's a delivery problem across this industry, and it takes two forms. Research firms that are methodologically excellent but strategically inert — the work informs, it rarely decides. And data consultancies that ship the pipeline, close the ticket, and never ask whether anyone's decisions actually changed.
We know both failure modes first-hand, from the buy side and the sell side. We obsess about the gap between “here is what the data shows” and “here is what you should do about it” — because that gap is where strategy is either built or lost. Every Mozaik engagement is designed to close it.
Senior expertise. Global coverage.
Mozaik is intentionally lean at the principal level, but draws on a global network of specialist partners, contractors, and subject-matter experts when engagements require it.
This network spans data engineering, advanced analytics, AI and machine learning, qualitative and quantitative research, and sector-specific expertise across technology, retail, FMCG, healthcare, government, and manufacturing.
You get the depth of a larger firm without the overhead and expense of one.
Stephen Tracy
Stephen has spent over fifteen years at the intersection of data, research, and strategy — building the systems that produce evidence, and running the teams that act on it.
Most recently Chief Data Officer at North One, accountable for the company's data function end to end. Before that he co-founded Milieu Insight and served as its COO, building one of Southeast Asia's most awarded and fastest-growing research SaaS platforms, and led YouGov's Southeast Asia operations as Managing Director.
The combination is unusual and it's the point: a data leader who also built and ran a research company. He has seen what goes wrong from inside the function that buys this work and inside the firm that sells it. He has also built bestselling data and research courses on Udemy and Coursera, reaching more than 50,000 students across 100+ countries — which is why training your team is a service we offer rather than an afterthought.
Stephen leads every Mozaik engagement personally. No handoffs to junior teams. When you work with Mozaik, you work with Stephen — supported by a global network of specialist partners.
